Installation narrative:

The initial installment of the The Wrong Building series of paintings occurred not in a gallery, but in the home of two Southern California art collectors. Goeltzenleuchter's paintings were discretely inserted in the context of the home, with no visual signs or texts to differentiate them from the rest of the home's décor. The intention was to force the paintings to compete for attention with the rest of the domestic visual culture.
